Sophia Shalaby
Criminal Defense Attorney
Sophia M. Shalaby is an of-counsel attorney at UBFK Law, specializing in criminal defense. She is licensed to practice law in both the State and Federal Courts of New Jersey and the State Courts of New York. Sophia’s educational background includes studying at New York Law and graduating from St. Thomas School of Law in addition to her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University. She has been practicing law for eleven years.
Prior to joining UBFK Law, Sophia ran her own law firm for seven years. Her career began as a legal analyst for the United Nations in New York, giving her a unique perspective on international law and affairs as well as human rights. She has served as a Municipal Prosecutor for several municipalities, including Sayreville, Woodbridge, and Carteret. Currently, she holds the position of Freehold Township Municipal Public Defender. Given her experience as both a prosecutor and defense attorney, her clients receive the benefit of having an attorney with experience on both sides of charges.
Sophia’s dedication to legal education is evident in her role as a presenter of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs for the New Jersey State Bar Association. This involvement allows her to share her expertise and insights with other legal professionals in the field. Sophia M.
